In this laboratory students explore interactions among species,
including predation, competition, and mutualism. The
major types of species interactions and their importance in community
structure are introduced. Students will explore how interactions may
range from simple to complex and how humans and invasive species may
influence established species interactions and community structure.
Topics covered in this lab include:
- Different types of species interactions
- Food chains and food webs
- Keystone species
- Invasive species
- Biological control
- Mimicry
